What happened when I did this myself: £450,000 in one weekend

About seven years into running Outplayed, most of my customers paid £20 to £50 a month.

I had an idea for new software, but it was for a different kind of customer.

  • I asked my customers some questions and matched their answers to how much each one had spent with us.
  • The ones who'd spent the most already loved betting and wanted an edge, so I built the offer for them.
  • I gave 20 of them the software free for a year in return for honest reviews, so we had proof before we sold a single copy.
  • Then I priced it at £1,000 a year, paid up front, to people used to paying £20 to £50 a month.

We launched at half price, £495, for three days only.

On a normal day, we made about £5,000. That weekend, we made £450,000.

Over £200,000 of it came on the last day, and it helped us hit our first million-pound month.
